About the AAU Policy Monitor
The AAU Policy Monitor tracks how research from Aalborg University is cited in policy sources worldwide. The tool collects and visualizes policy mentions of academic publications using data from:
Data Sources & Limitations
- DOI Requirement: The tool only includes publications with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), as a unique identifier is needed to track policy mentions.
- Policy Sources: Mentions are only fetched from policy sources covered by Altmetric and PlumX. This means that the tool does not include all possible policy mentions from sources outside these databases.
- Limited Detail: The tool currently only retrieves the number of policy mentions. Viewing additional details about each mention requires a subscription to Altmetric or PlumX. Click the details icon to explore further.
- Not a Research Metric: This tool is not designed for ranking research by the number of policy mentions. Instead, it aims to highlight how research can contribute to societal impact through policy engagement.
- Data is updated monthly, but there may be delays in external data sources.

- This tool is for informational purposes only and should not be used as an official research evaluation metric.
